Active River project is designed to improve recreation and economic growth for St. Charles, expand open space along the downtown shoreline, improve fish migration, and improve the overall Fox River environment. Active River is the choice to retain the current water level north of the railroad trellis, preserve the Paddle Wheel boats, preserve the Pottawatomie Golf Course, and substantially satisfy the objectives of the US Army Corp of Engineers.
